Description

This session will focus on lessons learned from a pilot triad project in which a BHC works with one medical provider and one medical assistant for a whole day, seeing all the same patients.  The focus of this session is on the MA role and the MA BHC relationship, including how valuable the MA is in introducing and getting buy-in for BHC services, strategies to improve communication, recognizing the strengths and ownership of each role, and particularly recognizing the critical role that MAs play in integration, particularly in such a high level of integration (BHC seeing between 90-100 percent of medical provider patients).

Have an overview of one model of pairing BHC/Provider for each visit, with emphasis on the Medical Assistant Role.

Familiarize themselves with the unique value and perspective MA bring to the system.
