Dr. Lesley Manson has spent two decades providing direct clinical, management, and consultative service in integrated care. She is an international subject matter expert on integrated healthcare. Her dedication to behavioral health and integrated care models led her to directing behavioral health programs, providing continuing education to healthcare providers, and developing workshops and trainings for behavioral health and primary care providers to be successful and integral members of healthcare teams. Her specialty is within the area of building fiscally sustainable integrated health care with identifiable return on investment and cost savings. She has advanced experience in continuous quality improvement, behavior change, and standardization and outcome measurement for behavioral health programs integrated into primary care. Dr. Manson has spearheaded multidisciplinary teams for primary care process improvement and population specific quality improvement and standardization, which has led to improved healthcare outcomes, enhanced quality assurance, increased compliance and patient engagement, health equity, and reduced healthcare costs. She was an integral member of teams for the development of electronic medical health records with integrated shared behavioral health focusing on standardization, best practices, and evidence based techniques. Her history as a health care executive has led her to voluminous national presentations on integration with both clinical and management focus and providing consultation and training for primary care and medical/behavioral organizations in developing and auditing for integrated care quality and fiscal sustainability. She develops train-the-trainer and additional educational programming for numerous contracted agencies such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, and various federal and independent medical associations and organizations. She leads and participates as a subject matter expert on several international Project ECHOs surrounding integrated care and sustainability for healthcare. Historically, she has been an active member of her local and national professional primary care and behavioral health organizations, serving on numerous boards, receiving recognitions, and was former president of the North Coast Association of Mental Health Professionals in CA and has co-chaired the PCBH, Value Based Purchasing, and Pediatric special interest groups for the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association (CFHA). Currently she is on the governing council for the Arizona Psychological Association as President, chairs the continuing education committee, and continues her board work with CFHA special interest groups. She was honored with certificate training from Johnson and Johnson UCLA Health Care Executive Program. She is also a master trainer for the Institute for Health Care Communication and conducts workshops in the area of clinician-patient interaction, health equity, team based care, and communication to meet healthcare’s triple/quadruple aim. She serves as a clinical associate professor, associate chair of integrated initiatives at Arizona State University Doctor of Behavioral Health Program. Further she provides consultation related to building, assessing, and training for fiscally sustainable Integrated Care Behavioral Health programs and is acknowledged as an International Subject Matter Expert serving sites across the United States, Canada, and the EU. She has numerous peer reviewed journal, book, and professional publications on integration, healthcare return on investment, and is a co-author of "Integrating Behavioral Health into the Medical Home.”
