Sara Green-Otero, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor and a Clinical Program Manager for University of Texas-Austin, Dell Medical School UT Health Austin’s Integrated Behavioral Health care team. In her role, she supports ongoing quality improvement efforts within the Dell Med Department of Health Social Work and supports the social work learner program. She specializes in using an interdisciplinary approach to supporting youth, individuals, and their families with brief strengths-based, solution-focused, client-centered interventions to meet their goals and improve their overall well-being. Sara received her bachelor of arts degree in social work from the University of Iowa, where she worked with families experiencing domestic and intimate partner violence. She earned her master of science degree in social work from the The University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work. She Sara is fluent in both English and Spanish and has worked with various interdisciplinary teams, and in medical, school, and child welfare settings. Most recently, she worked as the Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) Pediatric Lead at a Federally Qualified Health Center where she received training regarding the use and implementation of the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) Model working with youth, individuals, and their families. Sara has dedicated herself to the profession of social work by mentoring and supervising other social workers and hosting social work students in their placements. She uses a strengths-based, servant leadership approach to educating and promoting the growth of learners and advocates for the needs of individuals and her teams through quality and program improvement.
