Dr Julie Nielsen is a Board-Certified psychiatrist who completed her General residency and Child/Adolescent fellowship at University of WI Hospitals and Clinics before embarking on the journey to becoming a collaborative care psychiatric consultant. She has practiced psychiatry in virtually all venues over her nearly 30-year career, but her enduring passion is being an integrated consulting psychiatrist. She holds a Clinical Associate Professorship in the UW Department Family Medicine for her teaching and clinical services and has worked at Access Community Health Care Centers for 10 years as their in clinic psychiatric consultant. There she sees patients, provides curbside consultation and written/Econsults, supervises 3rd year psychiatry residents on rotation and assists with provider and staff education.
