Dr. Center is currently the Chief Program Officer at the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence where she is responsible for overseeing all the educational programs and facilitating several programs related to leadership, interprofessional teams, behavioral health integration, and collaborative practice. Since joining the Center in 2006, she has led a variety of grant-funded programs related to nursing education and healthcare workforce recruitment and retention as well as strategic initiatives expand the diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workforce to support access to equitable care. Deb has over 40 years’ experience in healthcare and has held many positions from a staff level to executive leadership within clinical practice settings, nursing education, and workforce development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing science (BSN), a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Clinical Specialty in Adult Critical Care, and a Doctorate in Organizational Development and Leadership Psychology (PhD).
