Name
The Science Behind Burnout And What To Do About It
Description

Burnout has a negative and pervasive impact on individual workers, employee groups, and organizations (Green et al., 2014; Jackson et al., 1986, Maslach, 1993; O’Connor et al., 2018; Schaufeli, 2005; Thomas et al., 2014). If measures are not pursued to mitigate the degree and significance of burnout on the bio-psycho-social-spiritual well-being of healthcare workers, the profession will be challenged with the negative individual, interpersonal, and organizational effects of burnout and the quality of integrated healthcare will be compromised. Strategies for personal and organizational change will be discussed, and attendees will be able to learn about the three different types of burnout and ways to prevent and mitigate burnout.
