Description

This session will provide a broad overview of the collaborative care program at UC Davis and its importance in supporting both patient access and workforce training for medical trainees. We will discuss education gaps for residents and faculty, such as limited didactics, few structured teaching opportunities, and the need for stronger preparation to teach in integrated systems. Presenters will share lessons learned in building sustainable teaching models that support identity formation and team-based skills. The role of the psychiatric nurse practitioner will also be featured, with attention to mentorship, consultation, and supporting faculty development.
