Kimberly Menzel, LMSW, ACSW, LCSW is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and a faculty member with the UNC Suicide Prevention Institute. With thirty years of experience as a behavioral health clinician, educator, and clinical supervisor she brings expertise in evidence-based suicide prevention interventions, trauma-informed care, and program development. Kimberly leads clinical training and research in innovative suicide prevention strategies, serving as program lead and primary clinical investigator for the UNC Coping with Long-Term Active Suicide Program in Primary Care (CLASP-PC) pilot. She provides clinical supervision to allied health professionals and trains learners and community partners in Counseling on Access to Lethal Means, Safety Planning Intervention, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality, and CLASP. Kimberly is deeply committed to reflective supervision, mentorship of early-career clinicians, and building sustainable, community-based suicide prevention infrastructure.
