Susan Pfau is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and LPC Supervisor in Minnesota who has been practicing since 2016. She earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary’s University of MN and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Medical Family Therapy at Northcentral University with expected graduation in 2026. Susan changed careers after losing her son (28) to colon cancer. She realized how important mental health support was during those times. She facilitates cancer support groups for Gilda’s of MN and Angel Foundation.
Her passion is to walk alongside families experiencing a terminal or serious illness. Susan specializes in early childhood development and their mental health, individual life transitions, and family and couple issues. She has extensive training in DC: 0-5 diagnostic classification of mental health and development disorders of infancy and early childhood. She is a Registered Play Therapist and is certified in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She is trained in Experiential Play Therapy, Theraplay (attachment-based intervention for caregivers and their children), and Sand Tray Therapy.
