Laura Hunt Trull is Associate Professor of Social Work in the College of Health Sciences and Research Faculty in the Rural and Community Programs Division of Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Trull has practiced Social Work in nonprofit administration and in policy development and implementation with the federal Head Start program. Her research has focused largely on rural health, nonprofit leadership, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. She is engaged in mentoring numerous medical students, graduate assistants, undergraduate scholars, and junior faculty in their research and professional development. She has a deep love for rural community wellbeing, is a current resident of Appalachia, and has a long history of volunteerism with Remote Area Medical and both the Virginia and Tennessee Rural Health Associations.
