Barry Andres is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose focus is clinical work with youth and families who have experienced complex trauma. He was Clinical Director of the Child and Family Services Outpatient with Alaska’s primary community mental health center for many years. In this position, he helped start specialty programs such as the Alaska Child Trauma Center, the Alaska Seeds of Change Program which employed and provided therapeutic supports for at risk youth using a large hydroponic greenhouse as the vehicle for healing and change. He went on to become Clinical Director of a supportive housing program in Anchorage where he led a clinical team working to house and support homeless adults. He currently works as a Child and Family Therapist and Behavioral Health Consultant at the Child Advocacy Center Alaska Cares in Anchorage, Alaska. He enjoys time with his dogs, fishing and an array of outdoor activities.
