Abby Rader is a PhD candidate in Population Health Sciences at Duke University. She earned an MS from Duke in 2023, where her work focused on evaluating health-related quality of life measures in patients with complicated intra-abdominal infections and evaluating the impact of unmet social needs on health outcomes. Her current research focuses on measuring communication ability in children with rare neurodevelopmental disorders, evaluating program and intervention effectiveness for high needs patients (include those dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare), and assessing the impact of social determinants of health on health outcomes. Abby also serves on the steering committee for the Health Outcomes Society of the Triangle (HOST), serves as Chair of the Child Health Special Interest group for the International Society for Quality of Life Research, and is Vice President of the Duke Population Health Sciences Student Association.
