As the first and only osteopathic medical school established in the state of North Carolina, Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine provides students with a seamless transition from learning to delivering the highest quality patient care in the communities they serve. With an approved class size of 150 medical students annually, Campbell Medicine is the second largest medical school in the state of North Carolina.
The School of Osteopathic Medicine offers a Doctor of Behavioral Health (DBH) degree designed for professionals seeking to advance their knowledge and expertise in the integration of behavioral health into primary and specialty care medical settings, and hospitals.
Drawing on the expertise of experienced professionals and faculty from the medical school’s many departments, including behavioral health, family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology/pathophysiology, and simulation medicine, the DBH program provides an interprofessional, team-based, and collaborative approach to training that:
1. Equips students with the skills to apply practice-based research that addresses real-world challenges in integrated behavioral health.
2. Provides comprehensive knowledge of behavioral health theories, brief interventions, evidence-based practices, and the latest advancements in the field.
3. Develops practical skills in assessment, intervention, evaluation, and team-based treatment planning.
