Dr. David J. Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the Family and Community Medicine Department of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In this department he serves as the Director of Behavioral Health Resident Education. Dr. Johnson is a systemic researcher focused on relationships, technology use, and mental healthcare. His scholarly activities center on two broad goals: (1) understanding how technology use can enhance couple and family relationships, and (2) increasing access to high-quality mental healthcare. His research efforts are directed toward improving treatment for individuals, couples, and families by specifically addressing two important areas: (1) access to mental healthcare via integrated primary care, and (2) the development, adoption, and use of mHealth apps in conjunction with systemic behavioral healthcare.
