Victoria Udezi, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Udezi completed her residency in family medicine with a distinction in global health and community action research and a fellowship in community medicine, both at UT Southwestern. She also holds a master’s degree in public health with a global health concentration from UT Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Udezi is committed to addressing health disparities and improving the physical and mental health status of the local and global community through education, clinical care at local and
international sites, collaborative research, and community engagement. She co-directs the residency’s community medicine, health equity, advocacy and research track as well as
the global health curricula for residents.
Her scholarly work focuses on addressing health inequities
particularly regarding patients’ structural determinants of health, experiences of trauma and the provision of trauma-informed care in primary care. In 2023 she received the Diversity and Healthy Equity Leadership award from the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.
