Dr. Virna Little is currently the Co-founder of Concert Health, a behavioral health medical group providing Collaborative Care to healthcare providers across 19 states. Dr Litte is also the co-founder of Zero Overdose, a not for profit addressing the national crisis of unintentional overdoses. Dr Little served as a special advisor to the New York City Mental Health Commissioner, Directing the Center for Innovation in Mental Health housed at the New York City School of Public Health where she was part of the research faculty. Prior Dr. Little worked for 22 years as a Senior Vice President for a large FQHC network in New York overseeing over 300 behavioral health and community staff and worked for New York City Health and Hospitals as a citywide family violence coordinator. She has a Doctoral degree in Psychology and Masters in Social Work.

Dr. Little is a nationally and internationally known speaker for her work in integrating primary care and behavioral health, developing sustainable integrated delivery systems, Collaborative Care and suicide prevention. Dr. Little is a member of the University of Washington AIMS center and Nation Council for Mental Well Being consulting teams. She is also a faculty member for the national and international Zero Suicide initiative and has spoken on national suicide prevention strategies at the White House. She is currently leading efforts in suicide prevention in Montana and New York.
Dr Little is an expert in Collaborative Care and has been providing technical assistance, implementations and training for more than two decades. Dr. Little is currently the technical advisor for the New York Collaborative Care Medicaid Program, The New York State SAMHSA Collaborative Care Pediatric Project , Project Director for the MHA of Houston national Collaborative Care Implementation Project along with multiple other collaborative care training and implementation initiatives nationally. Dr. Little has published several articles on the effectiveness of Collaborative Care. Dr. Little has been engaged in advocacy efforts and worked nationally to increase the adoption of the Collaborative Care codes within Medicaid fee schedules and support efforts to increase adoption. Dr Little is also nationally known for her work in behavioral health sustainability assisting organizations have viable service lines. She participated in the development of the National Council for Mental Well Being’s financial decision support tool, has developed coding pathways for organizations across New York and Iowa. She is currently working on a project for FQHC providers in California building viable Collaborative Care service line.

Dr. Little is a consultant providing technical assistance to organizations and states around the country integrating primary care and behavioral health. Dr. Little has been recognized with awards from the Society for Social Work Leaders in HealthCare, National Association of Social Workers , Community Health Center Network of New York, New York Suicide Prevention Committee and others. She has served on many boards including the New York Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Heart Association on and the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved, where she currently remains as an advisor and behavioral health subject matter expert.
