Dr. Kathryn (“Katie”) Kanzler is a board-certified clinical health psychologist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. She is also a Clinical Investigator at the Center for Innovations In Quality, Effectiveness, and Safety (IQuESt) at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX.
Dr. Kanzler is a prior US Air Force psychologist and recognized expert in the Primary Care Behavioral Health integration model. Her research focuses on expanding access to effective behavioral interventions that help people thrive while living with chronic diseases and health conditions, using strategies such as task-shifting/sharing. Dr. Kanzler’s primary research goal is to partner with communities to develop scalable interventions that help improve health equity and outcomes for diverse and underserved communities.
