Bel is the Director of the South Coastal AHEC (Area Health Education Center) which is part of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Bel has over 35 years’ experience training health care providers and recruiting physicians to train and practice in South Texas. She is a native of South Texas, born and raised in Robstown and is a proud Cotton Picker. She is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration and a certified Community Health Worker Instructor. Her passion is to promote health and wellness through education in her community.
