Additionally, Dr. Shelton provides these teenagers with reproductive healthcare services such as STD treatment, nPEP, PREP, and contraception.
Dr. Shelton was born and grew up in Monroe, Louisiana. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Northwestern State University of Louisiana in Natchitoches, Louisiana (a town which may sound familiar to those who’ve seen the film Steel Magnolias). Dr. Shelton completed medical school at the Louisiana State Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. Her pediatric residency training brought a change of scenery, to Richmond, Virginia, at Virginia Commonwealth University. During her final year of residency, Dr. Shelton worked at a pediatric urgent care clinic. Dr. Shelton continued working at this clinic for several months after concluding her residency, until she and her husband moved to Yakima, Washington, in the Fall of 2017. Dr. Shelton has worked at Community Health of Central Washington since Winter 2017 and Yakima Pediatrics since March 2018.
