Sarah Porras is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose clinical and professional experience includes helping children and adolescents of all ages cope with anxiety, ADD/ADHD, behavioral issues, chronic health issues, depression, trauma, and life transitions. As an Integrated Health Therapist working under Rady Children’s Hospital, she focuses on teaching self-regulation and social skills, enhancing cognitive and behavioral flexibility and working with parents on behavioral management strategies. Prior experience includes providing school based mental health services with Family Health Centers of San Diego in an underserved community in San Diego. In addition, she supported the Clinical Director’s Office in contracting monitoring with the County of San Diego’s Behavioral Health Services.
Sarah’s counseling style is accepting, sincere and strengths based. She loves working with children and their families and makes it a priority to create a safe, inclusive environment, and believes in the innate capacity of individuals and families to heal and thrive when given the right compassion, tools, and support. She believes that therapy is for everyone and that every person deserves the opportunity to reach their goals and feel their best. Sarah is a San Diego native and attended San Diego State University where she earned her dual Master’s in Social Work and Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration.
