Susan Baptista is Merakey’s Director of Clinical Mental Health Outpatient Services for Southeastern Pennsylvania. She holds a license in social work and earned her master’s degree at Temple University in Philadelphia and her undergraduate degree from Penn State University. Her professional career includes work with adjudicated youth, foster care and adoption social work, school social work and individual therapy. Susan’s career as a psychotherapist at Merakey began in 2005.
Her work as a clinician promotes and prioritizes the wellness and resiliency of her clients. Her approach to treatment combines trauma informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, person centered and strengths-based treatment. Susan is certified as a Trauma Specialist and consultant in Prolonged Exposure therapy (PE). As a professional, Susan has committed herself to bringing Evidence-based and trauma-informed treatments to Merakey’ s mental health outpatient programs.
