Description

Primary Care Associations (PCA) are uniquely positioned to support Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in adopting, operationalizing, and developing sustainable policy and reimbursement structures to supportĀ integrated behavioral healthcare models. Using principles of collective impact and the idea that 'change moves at the speed of relationships,' the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association (WPHCA) and Wisconsin Health Centers have worked together over the last 5 years to achieve critical policy wins in support of integrated behavioral health care, including sustainable Medicaid coverage of the General BHI code and the Collaborative Care Model and coverage for audio-only behavioral health visits. This presentation will highlight the growth and development of WPHCA's Behavioral Health portfolio over the last 5 years, describe the way WPHCA works with Wisconsin Health Centers and state policymakers to advance policy priorities, and offer insights on the value of PCA engagement in integrated behavioral health care.
