Instructions for Proposal Reviewers

Proposal Reviews are an important component in planning the CFHA Annual Conference. The Conference Co-chairs will consider your ratings and comments to ultimately decide which sessions are presented at the Conference.

Each Review Team has been assigned a set of proposals to be reviewed. For example, Review Team A will review sessions in Track A.

Some sessions have abstracts, but some don't. We are using a new system and realized after many sessions were submitted that the abstract field did not show up for all submissions. Please do not hold it against a session if they don’t have an abstract. If you have questions, include them in the comments field.

Reviewer Deadline: Friday, April 12, 2023

All reviewer responses must be submitted through the online portal here.

Each proposal must be rated in four primary areas – IMPORTANCE, INNOVATION/ORIGINALITY, CLARITY/ORGANIZATION, and INTERACTIVE FORMAT. Please rate according to the following scale:

5 stars - Outstanding with no noted weaknesses
4 stars - Very strong with only one or two minor weaknesses
3 stars - Good with several minor weaknesses
2 stars - Fair with many minor or one or two major weaknesses
1 stars - Unacceptable with many major weaknesses

The online Review Form contains seven (7) sections:

Please enter your first and last name on the online form.

Include the title when entering your responses online. This allows us to double-check that the review is connected to the right submission.

There are three yes/no questions in this section.

  • Does the proposal show evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration?
  • Is the proposal clearly connected to empirical evidence?
  • Does the proposal show evidence of family centered approaches to care?

You will be asked to make a final recommendation whether the proposal submission should be accepted for presentation at the 2024 Conference.

Please include your recommendation for presentation length and format. Be sure to review the preferred and the minimum presentation length (30 or 60 minutes). Please take into account the requested presentation length, alternative formats/lengths that would or would not be acceptable to the presenter, and the content of the presentation (importance/audience appeal) in offering your recommendation. • 60 minutes

Please include comments or suggestions for further consideration, especially with regard to your recommendations for presentation format and length. These remarks will be very helpful for the Conference Chairs in the decision-making process.
