As the medical director of inpatient psychiatry consultation at Northwestern Memorial hospital, her academic focus is on medical care of patients with severe mental illness, delirium, hospital violence, along with the collaborative care model and other models of mental health integration. She is a distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a Fellow of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (ACLP), and a Board Member of the ACLP. Prior to becoming a physician, she worked in several community-based jobs helping people coping with severe psychiatric illnesses. Witnessing the disparities of our healthcare system sparked her passion for integrated and value-added psychiatric programs.
