Natalia Sira, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Science at East Carolina University. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in human development and health in the College of Health and Human Performance, her scholarship examines the complex interplay between stress, health outcomes, adverse and positive childhood experiences (ACEs and PCEs), and coping with illness. Her research further explores attachment relationships, resilience, and the quality of life of patients and their families, with the goal of advancing understanding of factors that promote health and well-being across the lifespan.
