Dr. Erin Mauck is an Assistant Professor of Public Health in the Community and Behavioral Health department at East Tennessee State University where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses including Thanatology, the study of death and dying. Her current research is focused on the importance of death, dying, and grief education in medical, pharmacy, and nursing schools, advance care planning, and meaning-making from grief. For over twelve years, she has studied, taught, and researched numerous areas of end-of-life including healthcare, planning, and access to expanded end-of-life options. She has a broad background in public health, specific training, and expertise in many areas including qualitative research methods, intervention design and implementation, and health behaviors.
