Up to 70% of primary care visits involve a behavioral health component, yet providers often struggle to ensure patients receive timely and appropriate care. Optum Behavioral Care (OBC) has implemented the evidence-based Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) in numerous primary care facilities nationwide, enhancing it through partnerships with local behavioral health practices. OBC has also developed a technology-enabled process to improve referral communication and provide ongoing clinical summaries to primary care providers. This presentation will share early outcomes and lessons learned from OBC's comprehensive behavioral health care system.
