Dr. Farmer serves as the UNTHSC Health Executive Director of Interprofessional Practice and Behavioral Health providing leadership in the integration of interprofessional practice and behavioral health in HSC Health’s primary care clinics. A Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Dr. Farmer practices in HSC Health’s Family Medicine Clinic, and precepts with Family Medicine Residents in behavioral health. An Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Education and Health Systems Science at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Farmer teaches skills development in clinical communication and emotional intelligence with medical students. Dr. Farmer came to UNTHSC in 2009, with twenty-three years’ experience in the clinical practice of counseling psychology.
