Speaker Short Bio
Laura Sidari, MD is a board-certified general psychiatrist and national leader in integrated behavioral healthcare, with specialized expertise in applying evidence-based integrated care to physicians, healthcare teams, and health systems. She brings more than a decade of clinical and leadership experience across military, college health, primary care, and community settings, with expertise in both Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) and the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM). As Co-Medical Director of CFHA and a Consulting Psychiatrist and Director of Integrated Behavioral Healthcare for a regional not-for-profit health system in Central New York, Dr. Sidari bridges system-level operational expertise with the perspective of a clinically active psychiatrist practicing within an integrated primary care environment. Her national work as a technical consultant and collaborator with organizations including the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association, and Association of American Medical Colleges has focused on helping physicians and health systems translate the evidence for integrated care into practical, sustainable approaches to care delivery. Deeply committed to giving back to the healthcare community, she contributes through clinical advisory boards, policy development and advocacy, and leadership that amplifies the voices and experiences of others. Known for her engaging and relational style, Dr. Sidari makes complex evidence accessible and actionable, helping healthcare professionals and teams turn what we know into how we practice. Her professional perspective is also shaped by profound lived experience, including the loss of her eldest son, Leon, at age four from complications of influenza, and she speaks openly about the intersections of healthcare, resilience, grief, and the life-changing experiences that shape how we care for others. She lives in Ithaca, NY with her husband, four living children, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and finds inspiration through photography, writing, travel, and creative collaboration.
